In the world of celebrities, divorces occur almost as frequently as marriages. These celebrities couldn’t wait to get hitched… and then divorced. Here’s a look at the ten shortest marriages of all time:
10. Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush.
The ‘One Tree Hill’ couple lasted five months before splitting. The reason for their divorce was reportedly infidelity on the part of Murray, who bedded Paris Hilton while still married to his co-star. If that wasn’t enough he went on to propose to ‘One Tree Hill’ extra, Kenzie Dalton, before the ink was dry on his divorce.
9. Drew Barrymore and Tom Green.
Actress Barrymore and actor-comedian Tom Green were married for five months before calling it quits, due to irreconcilable differences. It was apparently Tom Green’s decision to end the marriage to the Hollywood starlet. This had been Green’s first marriage; however, Barrymore had a prior unplanned marriage lasting only 29 days to bar owner Jeremy Thomas. The wedding had been presided over by a clairvoyant clergyman, whom the pair had discovered on a psychic hotline. Needless to say, the marriage was soon divorced.
8. Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney.
The famed actress and country singer lasted four months before divorcing. It’s alleged that Zellweger cited “fraud” among her reasons for the divorce, though Chesney reportedly felt differently and claims panic as the reason for the end, on Oprah. The pair had been dating quietly prior to their marriage, preferring to keep things low key. What the star claimed was “fraudulent” is still uncertain, however.
7. Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock.
The couple, both well known for their outrageous behavior, held their marriage three times on different occasions, before calling it quits. Their marriage, which spanned four months, was preceded by a bikini clad wedding ceremony. As confusing as their wedding dates may be, the couple also went on to cite different dates regarding their separation. This was definitely not a marriage done by the book.
6. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito.
The Hangover star, Bradley Cooper and then wife Jennifer Esposito, first known for her gory fame in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, made it to the four month mark before filing for divorce. However, there are reports that the couple had separated long before this. The break up was allegedly a mutual one and, Cooper, at least, seems to have moved on, saying that their marriage was “just something that happened.”
5. Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley.
The actor’s union to singer and daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley made it three months into their marriage before calling it quits. Presley called the marriage a “big mistake”, saying that it should never have happened. However, unlike so many of the weddings on this list, this one had been planned and took place in a Hawaiian resort, with the pairs sons by prior marriages as ring bearers and Presley’s daughter as the flower girl. Also, in attendance were Presley’s mother and god parents.
4. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.
Their marriage lasted all of 72 days, meaning that the magazine spread about their wedding had not yet even hit the stands before divorce proceedings were in order. The hit reality TV series star reportedly had not taken into account that a relocation from the busy streets of Hollywood to Minnesota, where her now ex-husband was scheduled to be playing, would be in order after the nuptials.

Of Super Bowl commercial fame and a former Miss USA to boot, Ali Landry wedded Mario Lopez, of Saved By the Bell, in a wedding bash in Mexico. The couple had dated for six years, which is becoming unusual in the arena of celebrity weddings. The celebrity’s marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander was annulled 55 hours after their Vegas wedding. The pop star went on to marry again, this time to ex-back up dancer Kevin Federline, which lasted for two years and gave the couple two children together.

And the shortest marriage of all time, this union lasted all of 24 hours. However, it’s not all bad news. Supposedly, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s prior marriage to Michael O’Hara was still awaiting dissolution rendering her current marriage with Mexican attorney Felipe De Alba illegal. Needless to say it was annulled on the same day it occurred. Zsa Zsa also tops the list as having accumulated the most marriages at a whopping nine times!
