Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, LLC Attorneys Earn Credentials As NJ Court-Approved Mediators

We are pleased to announce that two of our family law attorneys have achieved the status of Court-Approved Mediator for the state of New Jersey. Congratulations to attorneys Allison Holzman and Jason Tuchman for their accomplishment and expansion of Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, LLC’s mediation services. Two other Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, LLC attorneys, Alison Dunn and Gregory Pasler recently completed advanced training in mediation.

To become credentialed as a Court-Approved Mediator, potential mediators must meet certain professional requirements and complete 40 hours of additional mediation training, as specified by New Jersey’s Program for Mediation of Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases. In addition to their own private mediation practice, candidates who successfully complete requirements are added to the roster of Court-Approved Mediators, categorized by county/vicinage. These lists of Court-Approved Mediators are generally available to divorcing couples when a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel (MESP) fails to produce results and parties are subsequently referred for court-mandated mediation. Parties may also request and be referred to mediation at any time prior to the MESP, or opt for private mediation as soon as the decision to divorce is made.

Among the benefits of family law mediation include confidentiality of the proceedings and the opportunity for parties to create mutually acceptable agreements on their own terms. Additionally, divorce mediation can save time and money compared to divorce court litigation.

The mediators on the Court-Approved rosters include both attorney-mediators who focus substantially on New Jersey family law and other experienced professionals in the financial or mental health fields.

Congratulations to our attorneys on their well-earned achievement!
